Kangaroo point Rockclimbing

free outdoor climbing, first come first served
Kangaroo Point cliffs

The cliffs are located right beside the Brisbane River, just below River Terrace in the suburb of Kangaroo Point

it's been a while since i climbed last. i'm talking pre-Ebony, pre-pregnancy, maybe even as far back as pre-getting ready to get pregnant!? it wasn't until our hot water system exploded & flooded our garage, that i came across all of my climbing gear.. I used a couple of the steel gates & a sling to rig up Ebony's swing on our back patio & then decided it was time to actually go for a climb or (heaven forbid) part with some of my climbing gear.

i am lucky enough to live in a city that has an outdoor climbing gym right on it's doorstep and equally as lucky to have some gorgeous friends clearfoodandliving who are always up for some girl time, no matter what the activity. so with bubs in tow we headed off to Kangaroo point cliffs, or as us locals call it, KP.  we met at 9am before the rock started to get warm & set a top rope on Dirty Situations (a lovely climb with an exposed mantle/the crux, to get back into the swing of things.) you can't go wrong with 18 metres of rock above you, Kangaroo Point Cliffs Parkland on either side & Brisbane River directly behind!

it got hot pretty quickly so we packed up & tackled the 107 grueling KP steps to the top, to enjoy a drink @ the cafe over looking the city.

can't wait to go back with the girls next week. may try & make it one weekend so the boys can join us for a bbq along the river.
